Celebrities are usually good role models to their followers, but sometimes they show examples of what couples should not do on their dates. Just this summer, Chris Brown, a popular hip-hop singer, was charged for felony assault for punching his girlfriend Rihanna.

This is big news because both are popular singers in the world today, especially among teenagers. Chris Brown is known for hit songs such as "Run it!" and "Kiss Kiss," while Rihanna is known for numerous songs such as "Umbrella" and "Please Don’t Stop the Music." The news of the relationship between these two chart-topping singers was groundbreaking because they united their numerous fans and can work together to produce the next hit song. This worked for a while until in February, however, right before the 2009 Grammy Awards. She cancelled her appearance due to abuse from her boyfriend, from which she sustained numerous visible injuries. It has also been revealed that Chris made death threats to his girlfriend right before the Grammy Awards, scaring her before the abuse. This news caused an outcry from her fans for Chris Brown to be arrested and punished for his brutal treatment of Rihanna.

Chris has since been brought to court and pleaded guilty for his actions, resulting in a 50-yard restraining order from his ex-girlfriend. While this has calmed many angry fans, the damage has still been done, and many complain that Chris Brown has set a bad example for boyfriends around the world. It also shows that celebrity dating is often not picture-perfect and can have problems just like any other couple on Earth.
